Hel, the queen of the underworld

Hel

Hel is known to be in charge of the underworld, is the daughter of Loki, the god of deception. The physical aspect of Hel is different from the other gods, half of her body is beautiful and the other half is hideous. Hel is responsible for picking up one of the types of deaths, just like in Valhalla.

Garm

As in Greek mythology, there is a dog that defends Helheim (underworld), this dog is called Garm, and in Ragnarök he will be killed by Tyr but he will also kill him.

When Balder was killed by his brother Hoör, Hel refused to bring him back to life, he would only bring him to life if everyone mourned his loss. Everyone, except one person, wept for his loss, so Balder could not return to life, not until after the Ragnarök.
